New Congregations
NEW CONGREGATION CHURCH PLANTING MODELS:
PARENT CHURCH MODEL – A local congregation initiates and leads in the creation of a new congregation. The parent church will provide prayer, vision, personnel, ministry, and financial resources. Rather than adding one new church at a time, we will see a multiplication effect as more and more churches take ownership of the challenge to plant churches. When existing churches take the responsibility to parent new churches, the potential for success is greatly enhanced. And we will observe that God is faithful to grow His Church.
SATELLITE (MULTI-SITE) MODEL – A local church deploys individuals and families to another geographical location with the intent of developing a fully organized, reproducing congregation. This differs from parenting in that the sending church maintains full responsibility and provides continual leadership and oversight.
Certain congregations may find themselves with leaders, teachers, musicians, worship leaders, etc., who currently are not being used. These individuals can be given an opportunity to use their gifts and talents in the satellite ministry. In addition, leadership can be intentionally developed with oversight from the home congregation.
PARTNERING MODEL – Two or more congregations join together (partner) to spearhead the planting of a new reproducing church. The concept is similar to the Parent Church Model except for the involvement of multiple congregations.
